We're proud of all we've accomplished in the past years and hope that you share in our enthusiasm. Check out our most recent annual report, highlighting our activities and financial data from 2015, as well as our past annual reports.
Everything the EAIE does is in support of individuals involved in the internationalisation of their institutions. 2015 was a very successful year, made possible by all those in our community who continue to share their skills and experience.

The 27th Annual EAIE Conference
The 27th Annual EAIE Conference took place from 15–18 September 2015 in Glasgow, Scotland. Human rights champion Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, e-learning entrepreneur Donald Clark and humanitarian Terry Waite took centre-stage as keynote speakers.
Conference Conversation Starter
The theme of EAIE Glasgow 2015 was ‘A wealth of nations’, referencing both economic philosopher Adam Smith and the professionals from such a great number of countries that come to our conference. Participants got the conversation started with this publication, encouraging us to think about issues of ‘wealth’ from multiple perspectives.
The 2015 'In the city' programmes took place in Riga in the spring and Venice in the autumn. Each one week of intensive training, the Academies boasted a total of 231 participants from 30 countries who attended a total of 22 courses, led by 36 trainers from all around the world.
One year since we first launched the EAIE webinar series, we continue to offer those extra pieces of knowledge that professionals need to round out their expertise. In 2015, we added eight new 60-75 minute webinars to our repertoire.
It is only with the support of our members, especially those 100+ individuals who volunteer their time and skills to lead the Association, that we are able to accomplish all that we do. The EAIE member community continued to increase in 2015, with a total of 2871 members from 77 countries.
2015 Award winners
One institution and five incredible individuals joined the ranks of EAIE Award winners in 2015. They were honoured at the annual conference for their outstanding contributions to the EAIE and the internationalisation of higher education.
The EAIE is organised into 15 Expert Communities where professionals can connect with others who share their expertise. In 2015, we gave them new names which better correspond with the areas you work in and are more reflective of our broad, diverse community.
New Responsive Website
In 2015, we laid the groundwork for our brand new mobile-responsive website, focusing more on the people and resources that our community is all about. The new Community section was built to honour the individual efforts that make our work possible. The new Resources corner is where you'll now find an extensive library containing the EAIE's long history of publications, all of which non-members can now read descriptions and download sample articles for free.
The EAIE Barometer: Internationalisation in Europe
The EAIE Barometer is the first study to effectively map the state of internationalisation in Europe, as viewed by practitioners directly involved in the internationalisation of their institutions. It was based on data from 2411 internationalisation professionals from 1500 HEIs in 33 countries.
New EAIE Knowledge Development Task Force
The Knowledge Development Task Force was established to advise the EAIE on current trends and future developments in the field and recommend ways to further develop knowledge within the EAIE.
The EAIE’s Occasional Paper series comes to an end with a state-of-the-art examination of international alumni developments and dynamics from a range of perspectives, edited by Gretchen Dobson.
2015 Financial report
A big thank you to all those individuals, universities and sponsors for their generous support of the Association in 2015.
