Dirk Van Merode is International Projects Coordinator at the IT Department of the AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Antwerp, Belgium. He has more than 15 years of experience in writing, implementing, coordinating and assessing international projects. Beyond being an experienced consultant and engineer, he is also an enthusiastic teacher and a driven researcher with a passion for people and technology. He has worked at different universities of applied sciences in Belgium, and he is guest lecturer at numerous European, Asian and African universities. He is founding member and president of Ekisande Belgium vzw, a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the living quality of communities in developing countries. He is the founder and expert at his own consultancy firm, VMD Expertise. Here, he supports less experienced teams in the development, implementation and quality assurance of international projects.
