John L. Dennis, PhD, is co-founder of miXabroad.com, a new global benchmark measuring the experiences and impact of education abroad. In addition, he is a researcher, consultant and instructor. His research focuses on measuring the impact of international experiences on students, and on higher education (HE) practices, especially those that foster openness in HE. His research has been published in leading journals and he sits on the editorial board of academic journals in international HE and intercultural psychology. As a researcher and consultant, he has worked on numerous projects funded by the US Department of Defence, the European Union, and the Italian Ministry of Interior. He is a licensed Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and does specialised work in mental health wellness for students learning abroad. He is an Academic Board Member and Affiliated Professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore at the Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation and Chair of the Multicultural Psychology Program at ISI. He is finishing his first book, called The Importance of Feeling Uncomfortable.
