Goen is Director of Global Education and Senior International Officer at Virginia Military Institute. His administrative foci are strategic planning, student mobility, mentorship/networking, and partnership/relationship development. He previously held faculty appointments in interpersonal and intercultural communication at Christopher Newport University, Purdue University Fort Wayne, and Clemson University. In 2020, he received SSCA’s John I. Sisco Excellence in Teaching Award and in 2022, NAFSA’s Lily von Klemperer Award.
