Dr Vicky Lewis is an experienced independent consultant, based in the UK, who advises universities on international strategy development. She has completed over sixty projects for institutions with widely differing profiles and at various stages of internationalisation – mainly in the UK, but also in Europe, Asia, the US and Australia. Before becoming a consultant in 2013, Vicky worked for many years at Director level within UK universities, establishing an award-winning International Office from scratch and leading development of institutional strategies in the areas of internationalisation and marketing. Vicky's undergraduate degree is in Modern Languages (German and French) from University of Oxford. She went on to complete a Doctorate of Business Administration (Higher Education Management) at University of Bath, with a thesis exploring different motivations for and approaches to international engagement at UK universities. She continues to undertake research alongside her consultancy and regularly publishes thought leadership articles and blogs on global engagement strategy, transnational education and national policy. Vicky joined EAIE in 2014 and, since then, has provided mentorship, co-delivered Academy training courses, contributed to conference workshops and sessions, and written several articles for Forum.
