What makes a successful leader? There are many different possible answers to this question, and some of them will be addressed in the upcoming Summer issue of Forum, the EAIE member magazine, which will focus on the theme ‘Leadership in international education.’ This podcast episode provides a sneak peek at the conversation the EAIE had with Summer Forum interviewee Professor Danica Purg, the President of IEDC-Bled School of Management in Slovenia and President of CEEMAN, the International Association for Management Development in Dynamic Societies. Professor Purg has authored and co-authored various books on the topic of leadership and has been the recipient of numerous (international) awards for her achievements in the field of international business education.

In this conversation, EAIE podcast host Laura Rumbley asks several questions focusing on leadership in general. What are some of the intersections between management and leadership? To what extent are leadership skills generic across sectors and industries? Are there specific unique European approaches to leading? And what is there to say about ethical leadership and corporate social responsibility? Make sure to listen to this podcast episode, and if you’re interested in the topic and happen to be an EAIE member, also check out the 2024 Summer Forum issue focusing on this same topic.
