Snapshot report on international admissions: autumn 2021
In autumn 2021, the European higher education sector kicked off the second full academic year under the conditions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. As international higher education gradually emerges from the crisis, it can be helpful to take a preliminary look at how application numbers are shaping up in the final stages of the admissions cycle, and gather impressions from international admissions professionals regarding their expectations for enrolment, among other issues. To do so, the EAIE collected data from higher education institutions across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) via a short survey from 18 June to 19 July 2021. Our goal was to develop a simple yet informative picture of how international degree-seeking student numbers were trending across the EHEA at that time. This report summarises our findings.
