What you'll learn

This course will guide you through the process of designing and introducing a strategic internationalisation plan for your institution or department. You’ll learn the steps to take for each phase of strategic planning, the pitfalls to avoid and the key stakeholders to involve. You’ll also learn how to diagnose your strategic needs and will consider how important communication is to each stage of the strategic planning process.

Working collaboratively with others through a range of hands-on exercises and drawing lessons from relevant case studies, you’ll start to develop a plan of action suited to your circumstances. You’ll also have the opportunity to reflect on how to monitor and evaluate the progress of your plan.

It’s strategic planning made practicable, and by the end you’ll be ready to take action upon returning to your institution.

  • Begin working on a strategic internationalisation plan or finetune your approach

  • Link your institution’s vision with concrete actions, objectives and desired results

  • Gain the practical knowledge you need to advise leaders
