The UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative is dedicated to preserving higher education in Ukraine, preventing brain drain and strengthening the resilience of Ukrainian institutions in response to the Russian invasion to Ukraine since March 2022. The project has successfully facilitated the development of over 100 partnerships between Ukrainian universities and counterparts primarily in the UK, as well as across Europe and the US.
Through the Twinning project, international institutions offer tailored support to their Ukrainian counterparts, resulting in unique and versatile collaborations. Over the past two years, more than 600 individual projects have been implemented, showcasing the adaptability and commitment of these partnerships.
Our focus for the coming years is to ensure the sustainability of these collaborations by further enhancing the resilience and capacity of Ukrainian higher education institutions.
