Filip Van Depoele

Filip van Depoele is an economist by training (University of Leuven, Belgium) and subsequently studied European Economic Integration (College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium) and International Relations (Johns Hopkins University, Bologna, Italy). He worked for a number of years in the private sector (banking) before joining the European Commission in 1997. Filip held several positions in the Directorate General for Employment and Social Affairs and the Directorate General for Competition before moving to the Directorate General in charge of Education, Youth, Sport and Culture. After having managed the Policy Coordination unit for 5 years, he is currently heading the International Cooperation unit.

Marija Mitic

Marija Mitic is a Policy Analyst at the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) unit of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture. She coordinates feedback to policy activities in the unit, such as data monitoring, strengthening science-policy links in MSCA and structured uptake of project results in policymaking. She is also responsible for several MSCA initiatives supporting researchers at risk, academic freedom and fundamental values (Inspireurope+, SAFE projects). Marija has over 15 years of experience in international education policy and practice as a trainer, project manager, policy and advocacy officer in international organisations and stakeholder associations (Pestalozzi Children's Foundation, UNESCO, EC, Lifelong Learning Platform, ACA). She is a former member and chair of the EAIE Inclusion and Diversity expert community. Marija’s academic background is in English studies and Communication, Inclusive education and Lifelong Learning, acquired in Serbia, Switzerland, Denmark and Spain.

Tine Delva

Tine Delva works as deputy Head of Unit in the higher education department of the Commission's Directorate-General for Education and Culture (DG EAC). Tine is fully involved in the European Universities initiative and the European strategy for universities, as well as in the Erasmus+ programme. Before, Tine worked in the economic department of the Secretariat-General of the European Commission, where she was contributing to the work of the European Commission in areas such as economic governance and the EU follow-up to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Before Tine entered the European Commission, she was a cabinet member of two Members of the European Parliament. Tine has an academic background in economics, complemented with European affairs. She is co-author of the book "The functioning of Europe, after Lisbon" (2010, 2015, in Dutch).
