The University of Glasgow and Tecnológico de Monterrey, together with Universitas 21, present a session on how to foster global citizenship in students by aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Charlotte is the Head of International Relations at the University of Glasgow, having joined the University in 2017. In this role, she oversees and leads a range of international partnership activity at an institutional level which supports the delivery of the Global Glasgow 2025 strategy.Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico
Patricia Montano’s professional career has developed between Information Technology Management and Internationalization. During her 31 years at Tecnológico de Monterrey she has collaborated in academics as well as in administrative posts always related to the international development of the university. Patricia Montano obtained two Master degrees, an MBA from EGADE Business School with specialization in Global e-Management and a Master in Information Technologies Management, both at Tecnologico de Monterrey. She has been a speaker at several international conferences. As Director for International Innovation and Networks at Tecnológico de Monterrey she is responsible for designing new formats for student’s international experiences, new paths for the university’s internationalization as well as for the university activities at consortia. Her experience in the development of programs for the internationalization of the faculty and the growth of the international cooperation of academics in teaching-learning tasks has had an impact on the advancement of internationalization at home for both students and professors, achieving that more than 18,000 students and more than 1,000 professors, both Mexican and international, get involved in online collaborations facilitating the understanding of cultures and the discussion on topics of common interest based on the UN SDG.Universitas 21, United Kingdom
Debs McAllister leads the development and implementation of strategic projects for Universitas 21, a global network of 29 research-intensive universities who share a common belief in the value of collaboration and internationalisation.
Debs is also Global Vice President of CANIE, the Climate Action Network for International Educators, a grassroots initiative and registered non-profit formed by international education practitioners from around the world who see the need and the opportunity for our sector to step up and act on climate.
With over 15 years’ experience, Debs was previously Deputy Director International Partnerships and Services at the University of Auckland and has formerly held roles in international relations, marketing and admissions, widening participation, student volunteering and business development.
