While baguettes and boulangeries are delicious temptations, did you also know that France is a top global destination for international education opportunities with over 3500 public and private higher education institutions? But what is it really like to study or work in France as an expat? Join this campfire session to gain some perspective from both a local and an expat in France, as they take you on a journey ‘en route’ to your own French experience, par excellence.
Pedro Santiago is the Deputy Director of International and European Affairs at Université Paris-Saclay since October 2021. Particularly in charge of the European Affairs, he contributes to UPSaclay's European strategy and oversees it's cooperation and participation to European projects and mobility initiatives. Pedro is also deeply involved in the European University Alliance for Global Health - EUGLOH, overseeing UPSaclay's participation and the Alliance's Secretariat General, as the coordinator Party.
Pedro holds a dual degree in Political Science and International Affairs from a joint program between Portugal and France. His interest and expertise on Europeanization and internationalization of education policy has guided his 15-year career in international higher education cooperation. Before joining UPSaclay, Pedro worked at the University of Bordeaux's International Office, where he held various leadership roles related to International cooperation, mobility and internationalization.
