15:30 – 16:30 CEST, 18 September 2024 ‐ 1 hour

Panel session

In the ever-changing dynamic of international higher education, managing dissent and diverse perspectives has become increasingly challenging for universities and their leadership. As staff and students grapple with a range of viewpoints, institutions must respond in ways that ensure the safety and security of all while upholding the basic right to express different views while supporting and developing the means to foster positive dialogue.

This session will explore some of the tensions institutions are facing. From protests over sources of funding, cultural and political tensions, we will consider the complexities of conflict managing within university settings.

Join us as we delve into policies, decision-making processes, and real-world experiences, sharing both successes and failures in addressing conflict.
